Maandag 2 december NL-Alert testbericht. Check of jij ‘m ontvangt
Maandag 2 december verstuurt de overheid rond 12 uur een NL-Alert testbericht. Die ontvang je op je telefoon, maar ook via informatieborden in het openbaar vervoer. Check of jij ‘m ook krijgt. Want dan weet je zeker dat je ook een NL-Alert ontvangt bij een noodsituatie. (English below)
NL-Alert waarschuwt en informeert je over noodsituaties bij jou in de buurt. Of het nu gaat om een brand of onverwacht noodweer, NL-Alert vertelt je wat er aan de hand is en wat je moet doen om jezelf én anderen in veiligheid te brengen. Dus wat er ook gebeurt, volg je NL-Alert.
Testbericht
Op de eerste maandag van juni en december ontvang je rond 12.00 uur een NL-Alert testbericht. Zo test de overheid het systeem, om zeker te weten dat NL-Alert werkt in geval van nood. Het testbericht ziet er zo uit:
“NL-Alert 02-12-2024 12:00: TESTBERICHT. De overheid waarschuwt je tijdens noodsituaties via NL-Alert. Je leest dan wat je moet doen en waar je meer informatie kan vinden. *** TEST MESSAGE Netherlands Government Public Warning System. No action required.”
Je hoeft niets te doen als je het testbericht ontvangt. Het is alleen een test. Het is wel belangrijk om ook aan je omgeving te vragen of zij het testbericht hebben ontvangen. Zo weet jij zeker dat zij ook een NL-Alert ontvangen bij noodsituaties.
Alarmgeluid
Let op: je hoort een hard geluid als het bericht binnenkomt. Vooral via oordopjes of een koptelefoon, kan je daarvan schrikken. Haal dus vlak voor twaalf uur even je oordopjes uit je oren of zet je koptelefoon af.
Grensgebieden
Ben je vaak in een grensgebied? Dan maakt je telefoon vast wel eens verbinding met een buitenlandse zendmast. En kan je daardoor een NL-Alert missen. Daarom is er voor mensen in grensgebieden ook de NL-Alert App. Ben je verbonden met internet? Dan mis je nooit meer een NL-Alert. De NL-Alert App is gratis te downloaden in de Apple App Store en Google Play Store.
Toegankelijkheid
De NL-Alert App ondersteunt ook toegankelijkheidsfuncties, die een NL-Alert duidelijker maken als je blind, slechtziend, slechthorend of doof bent. Zo ondersteunt de app bijvoorbeeld tekst-naar-spraak en flitsmeldingen. En kun je NL-Alerts zeven dagen in de app terugvinden.
Geen bericht gekregen?
Krijg je geen testbericht? Dat kan verschillende redenen hebben. Om NL-Alert te ontvangen moet je telefoon aanstaan en bereik hebben. Je ontvangt geen NL-Alert als je mobiele telefoon uitstaat, tijdelijk geen bereik heeft of op vliegtuigstand staat. Ben je veel in grensgebieden? Download dan de app om zeker te weten dat jij een NL-Alert ontvangt.
NL-Alert test message
On Monday 2 December at around 12:00 PM (noon), the Dutch government will send a national NL-Alert test message. This is done to test NL-Alert for when harmful and life-threatening situations happen. This way, you know how an NL-Alert looks and sounds when you receive an NL-Alert on your mobile phone. Please note: you can hear the NL-Alert test message loudly if you use headphones or earphones.
What is NL-Alert and when is it used?
NL-Alert is a Public Warning System in the Netherlands. NL-Alert is used in harmful and life-threatening situations, like a major fire, a terrorist attack, an epidemic, or heavy weather. Do you see an NL-Alert? Read the message immediately, take action, and inform others.
NL-Alert on your mobile phone
You receive NL-Alerts on your mobile phone. This requires no action. When receiving an NL-Alerts, your mobile will emit a loud and penetrating alarm sound.
NL-Alert is based on cell broadcast technology. This technology is able to operate even in the event of phone network congestion or overload. NL-Alert is free and anonymous: you do not need to sign up and your phone number remains unknown.
NL-Alert on digital signage and advertising displays
You can see NL-Alerts on a growing number of digital signs at train, bus, tram, and metro stops. You will also see NL-Alert on more and more digital advertising displays. An NL-Alert is simultaneously displayed on signage and received on private mobile phones.
NL-Alert App
The NL-Alert App provides and supports accessibility features on your mobile phone. This makes NL-Alert clearer for people who are deaf, hard of hearing, blind, or visually impaired. The app is also convenient for people who are often in proximity to the Dutch border. Since you might miss a regular NL-Alert when your phone is connected to a foreign transmitter mast. With the NL-Alert App, you can always receive an NL-Alert when you are close to the border.
